So, it has begun

There is a time in starting to become a young lady that a phase must begin. Today I took ginger to the store to by, sigh, a razor and shaving cream. We got the Venus Embrace disposable razors which are supposed to cut out nicks and cuts. She picked out her shave gel that smells tropical. She was very excited to start this process but I had her wait till shower time.
So, I went into the bathroom with her while the boys in the house went to go wash clothes.  I took my razor out and side by side I walked her through the process. My heart was breaking as a saw a piece of my little baby break away and become a young lady. She did very well for her first time. A lot better than momma took it that is for sure. I will now go cry into my pillow and chug some chocolate milk to soothe my mind, nerves, and whoas.

Cell Phones for Teens. To Do it, or Not to do it??

My kids have been asking me to get them a cell phone.  Grant it, it is only an extra $10/mo. but do I have that at this moment?  Then I ask myself, why do they need one?  Coaches, schools, and friends houses all have phones, right?  So, why does my 14 and 11 year old need a phone?  Just because their friends do??  I have found myself looking at cell phones that do not require data plans, because I do not want them going on Facebook at school when they should be concentrating on their studies.  Then there is the whole responsibility thing.  Can they be responsible enough to not lose the phone and take care of it?  My kids are not hanging out with their friends at the mall, or outside that much enough for me to worry about where they are.  Dunno, but it sounds like I have my answer.  No cell phone just yet.

Looking for someone who can relate

Last week Monday, my daughter had diarrhea in the morning and a headache at night. She did not have any diarrhea this past Monday, but the headache is still present. She is 11 years old and the only signs of growing up is some buds. Would love any and all guesses and relations to this.

Happiness is.....

In the midst of getting Ginger's tummy issues derailed, I got to hang out with the girls. I have been so worried about my daughter and wondering what is making her icky, that I really have not had some me time. Tonight was awesome. Just me, da girls, and a few ummm...toys and things. I have to tell you that the Pure Romance Green Tea after shower spray smells AH MAZING. It is a discontinued product, but the rep had some on hand. Score one for me =)

I really am not into the self pleasing genre's. but give me the body sprays anytime!! So, here is my confession for the night. Brace yourselves. I have only read a page and a half of 50 Shades. What they do in the book is not my cup of tea.  But listening to the older ladies that come to these parties is quite the entertainment that lasts me quite awhile lol.

tales of the mysterious illnes

Since Monday, my daughter has had a headache, feeling blah, and running to the bathroom for #2 probs.  I emailed the doctor and they wanted her to give a urine sample.  Those results came back negative for whatever they tested for.  So, we will do the B.R.A.T. diet and continue to monitor her.  For tonight's dinner we are having eggs, and biscuits.  I so owe this girl a bigger meal once all things have passed (sorry for the pun).

Once in a lifetime

I am a huge fan of the show Restaurant: Impossible. Well, they are in town this week and yours truly got to volunteer working on the restaurant. I worked right along side Tom the builder and Cheryl the designer. I even had a brief moment with Chef Rob. I spackled, filled boxes, and vaccumed up after they removed the carpet. From what I hear, this episode should air in June. I can't wait.

Hey all

Well, hello there. Sorry that I haven't been on in a long time. Since I was last on here, Christmas was quiet and nice, and Mr. Twister turned 14. We went to the Museum of Science and Industry and had a blast (literally from the experiment that was done). Work has been work, and school for me has been interesting, and aggravating. If you ever do online schooling, always keep tabs on what your instructor is doing with your grades.
I think spring has finally sprung here (YAY!!!). I have some other things on my mind, but I'll do that hopefully sometime soon.

Until Laterz,
Insomnamom.
